The anti-inflammatory actions of curcumin and
boswellia
An allergy is a hyper-sensitivity to a
substance, or allergen, that may not be harmful to most
other people. When allergens enter the body through
inhalation or other form of contact, they trigger a
complicated chain of immune reactions. These reactions
may cause symptoms such as inflammation, runny nose,
skin rash, hives, coughing, wheezing, and/or itchy,
watery eyes.
Safe methods of controlling allergies have become a
primary focus of research. This is largely due to the
adverse side effects often associated with prescription
and over-the-counter medications. These side effects
include hyperactivity and hyperactivity.
Various herbs, such as curcumin (Curcuma longa)
and boswellia (Boswellia serrata), may serve as
favorable alternatives to medications due to their safe
and effective anti-inflammatory actions.
Boswellia (Boswellia serrata) and turmeric
(Curcuma longa) are two popular herbs used
within Ayurveda—an East Indian system of medicine. These
herbs have long been used for a variety of both acute
and chronic inflammatory conditions, and animal and in
vitro studies support this traditional use by
demonstrating their significant anti-inflammatory and
antioxidant activities.
